Müller Contemporary announces the opening of its new gallery space at Droysenstr. 13 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Formerly operating as Untiled Gallery, the program continues under the name Müller Contemporary, marking a new phase and a long-term commitment to presenting contemporary artistic positions within an international context, with a particular interest in practices connected to Southeastern Europe. The gallery’s development builds on earlier exhibition activities initiated together with Teodora Kotseva (Soldout.Design) in Sofia, which formed an important foundation for the program’s international orientation.

The inaugural exhibition brings together three artists whose work has closely accompanied the gallery’s development over recent years: Marina Stanimirovic, Göksu Baysal and Yasmin Nebenführ. Their practices engage questions of material presence, spatial perception and the shifting relationship between image, object and architecture.

Stanimirovic’s installations are built from simple, often industrial materials arranged in precise spatial constellations that subtly alter how visitors move through the space, shaped by personal experience and the rhythms of family life between France and Bosnia and the wider Balkan region. Baysal combines photography, found elements and sculptural gestures, with works that frequently draw on personal memory and fragments of 20th-century Turkish history. Nebenführ works with printed images and layered surfaces, allowing photographic material to change through exposure, fading and processes of natural decay. The works raise questions of image and representation itself, as the motif gradually transforms and the image becomes both subject and record of its own material condition.

Together, the works form a dialogue around how images and structures occupy space, physically and psychologically. While differing in medium and approach, the three positions share an attentiveness to material, perception and the conditions under which meaning emerges. The exhibition reflects the gallery’s ongoing interest in practices that move between object, image and environment, setting the tone for the future program of Müller Contemporary.

Further information regarding exhibition dates and the opening reception will be announced shortly.
