An Imperfect Day.
Featuring the works of Marilia Kolibiri, Vikenti Komitski, Petar Pondev, Dessislava Terzieva, and Dimitra Zervou, the exhibition invites viewers to embrace moments of imperfection as spaces for reflection and discovery.
As the title suggests, "An Imperfect Day" leans into the beauty of the unpolished, celebrating the unexpected resonance found in pieces that have waited patiently in the gallery’s archive. From minimalist compositions to playful interventions, each artwork presents a unique perspective, encouraging the audience to consider how imperfections shape not only art but life itself.
The five participating artists bring their distinct voices to the exhibition:
• Marilia Kolibiri explores the visual language of branding and marketing. Her works juxtapose beauty with a critical view of consumer culture, using bold gestures and vibrant colours to create statements on modern life.
• Vikenti Komitski’s pieces challenge norms with a wink of irony, exploring the boundaries of form and function.
• Petar Pondev crafts a dialogue between materiality and memory.
• Dessislava Terzieva pushes conceptual boundaries, drawing on domestic materials and reflections on her heritage to create layered narratives that explore the interplay of memory, identity, and cultural legacy.
• Dimitra Zervou blurs the line between fragility and strength, offering delicate yet powerful artistic statements.
An Imperfect Day also serves as an end-of-year reflection, a moment to pause and consider the unplanned and overlooked.
The exhibition opens with a reception on 20 December 2024 at Soldout Design / Untiled Gallery. Join us to celebrate the imperfect, the unexpected, and the extraordinary.

Marilia Kolibiri (1993) studied in Athens School of Fine Arts and works mostly with traditional materials i.e. oil on canvas and ceramics. Her subjects on the other hand are anything but traditional. The focus lies on the world of modern-day branding and marketing techniques and its aesthetic language. The subjects in Kolibiri’s paintings and sculptures are instantly recognisable either from their omnipresent branding and marketing campaigns or as seemingly banal moments captured and robbed of their context. But being surrounded by the beauty on the one hand and the apprehension of contemporary tourism in Greece on the other, Kolibiri’s pieces never only convey the seemingly happy-go-lucky atmosphere they suggest at the first glimpse. Described by the artist as a magnifying glass on consumerism the pieces shown for Sofia Art Week are very compelling in their powerful gestures and bold colours.
Kolibiri was rewarded numerous awards for her work both in Greece and abroad.
Vikenti Komitski, born in 1983 in Sofia, Bulgaria, is a contemporary artist based in Berlin. He studied sculpture at the National Academy of Art in Sofia and later pursued a Master's in Art in Context at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Komitski's work spans objects, installations, and video, often recontextualizing everyday items to explore their meanings. He has exhibited widely, including solo shows like "New Poor" at the ICA in Sofia and "Subjective Geography" at Sariev Contemporary in Plovdiv. His art has been featured in group exhibitions across Europe and the U.S., and he has participated in artist residencies in Reykjavik, Prague, and New York.
Born in Bulgaria in 1986, Petar Pondev combines personal and global themes in his textile art. After 11 years in Berlin collaborating with filmmakers, musicians, and photographers, Pondev now focuses on wool tapestries. His vibrant works blend figurative and abstract elements, weaving narratives that explore universal and personal experiences. Pondev studied textile design in Bulgaria, earning a BA from Luben Gross University in 2009. A former actor at Bulgaria’s National Theatre, he returned to fabric art in 2023 while working in Porto, Portugal.
Dessislava Terzievais a Bulgarian-American contemporary artist based between Detroit, Sofia and Mexico City. She earned a BA in Political Science from Oakland University and an MFA in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2021 where she won the Museum Purchase Award and her work was accessioned into the permanent collection of Cranbrook Art Museum. Prior to attending Cranbrook, Terzieva made a name for herself as a prominent figure in the Detroit art scene; exhibiting in off-site locations, curating independent spaces, and executing interactive and immersive installations in the public sphere.
Terzieva has exhibited in the United States and internationally, including: Manifesta 14 in Pristina, Kosovo; Citronne Gallery in Athens, Greece; ART-O-RAMA in Marseille; France; KO-OP in Sofia, Bulgaria; College for Creative Studies Center Gallery in Detroit, Michigan; Sculpture Center in Cleveland, Ohio; Aether Haga in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Huron Art Space in San Francisco, California; Mönchskirche in Salzwedel, Germany; Guck mal Günther, Kunst in Lenzburg, Switzerland; International Biennale of Santorini in Santorini, Greece; Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She has been awarded a residency at Hestia (Serbia), Bedsuy Art Residency (New York), Atelierhaus Hilmsen (Germany), and World of Co (Bulgaria).
Dimitra Zervou uses sculptures and installations as mediums that create narratives which examine memory and its state throughout time. Her works invite the viewer into a conceptual world with a peculiar point of view, opening new dialogues between reality and imagination. Zervou lives and works in Athens, and holds an Integrated MA from the Athens School of Fine Arts.
